Will I learn Dutch or Flemish?

Flemish usually refers to the Dutch spoken in Flanders. You’ll learn standard Dutch as used in Belgium, together with local vocabulary, pronunciation and everyday expressions.

Can I take more than one lesson a week?

Yes. Elien can prepare and teach one or more lessons a week. During your introductory chat, you’ll choose a schedule that is realistic and supports your goals.

How long is a lesson?

Choose 60, 90 or 120 minutes. One hour is the minimum; after that, lessons can be extended in 30-minute steps up to two hours.

Are lessons available online and in person?

Yes. You can take lessons online from anywhere, or meet Elien at a quiet location in Brussels or the surrounding area.

Can Elien explain something in English or French?

Yes. Elien speaks Dutch, English and French, so she can clarify difficult points without leaving you feeling lost.

Do I need to know Dutch already?

There is no fixed level required for the introductory chat. Elien will discuss your starting point and whether her approach suits what you need.
